Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil : Leila Lopes representative of Angola in Miss Universe 2011 pageant takes home the crown as the most beautiful lady in the universe but then again Miss Philippines sneak-in into top 5. Gensan’s pride Shamcey Supsup also takes the 3rd runner up title in the said event.
Miss China Luo Zilin was named fourth runner-up, Miss Brazil Priscila Machado was named second runner-up, while Miss Ukraine Olesya Stefanko was named first runner-up. Mexico’s Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete turn over her crown to Lopes. Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup is of course one the intense favorites as the Miss Universe pageant progressed, Miss Philippines overwhelmed pageant enthusiast with her answer during the Question and Answer portion. When asked by Judge Vivica A. Fox if she would change her religion to marry someone she loves, Shamcey Supsup responds “NO”.

“I would not change my religion because, first of all, I love my God who created me and if that person truly loves me, he must also love my God,” Shamcey said.
Throughout the competition, Shamcey was among the top placers in NBC.com's Miss Universe fan voting poll.
But then again this was another success story of the Philippines, for the reason that last year representative Ma. Venus Raj was crowned only as fourth runner-up even with her famous line “Major Major”.
